Well I dropped my cylinders off at the machine shop and ordered a pair of KB .020 coated pistons to match honed.

Also going to pull the lower end, clean and inspect.

Thank you for the input.

Well I pulled the lower end and it is SHOT. Cam bearing went and ovaled out the race causing the can to woble and break a couple teeth on the cam gear, pinion and breather gear.

NICE SH!#

Now it time to decide what I want to do.
Rebuid the shovel, build a new one or buid an Evo to replace the shovel. I have some questions though.

1) Will an EVO fit in the frame with no modifications to the top tub? If not are people just arching the top tub to fit them?
2) Will a stock primary mate the EVO to my 4 speed tranny? If not who make the conversion primary?

Thank you,
Tom

Stick with the shovel is my opnion.
you would have to do some frame work for the rear head to fit.
Not sure about the primarys.
I'm sure some one will come along with more help.
sorry to hear about your engine.

well i guess you found out why your motor didnt want to kick over, thats the pits. i, myself, would look for a good used motor, maybe someone thats pulled a low mile motor for a bigger hp motor. ofcourse after i found out how much it would cost to rebuild yours. when you start hitting $3,000.00 for a complete rebuild your better off buying a new revtech for that price off ebay. i know a mech that rebuild his shovel but it was a money thing, he put the biggest cam and hogged out the ports, everything to make it have more power, if he would of had the money he would of just bought a bigger motor, new, and been done with it. it just some times its cheaper to buy a new one than try to fix the old one.
