Brakes don't seen right!
I took the 81 out for a test run today after doing all the stuff I've already posted about.
Bled brakes and added new DOT 5.
Front grip and rear pedal are very tight......meaning they don't feel like any air is in system.
They have a firm grip when depressed.
Now I dont know if it because Ive only been riding the 2010RK the last few months but I REALLY have to press those brakes hard to stop on the 81!
There's no way I can emergency stop!
Have I just forgotten how bad the brakes are or does something sound off to you?
The RK stops on a dime!

"O.E. is replaced...care Must be taken to Match the Pad material to the Rotor material.."
That's a new one on me.....I'll look into that.
I replaced the original brake system with Performance Machine sometime in the late 80s.
Rotors and pads have been cleaned.
I did spray calipers with brake cleaner but maybe not enough.
I'll take a look at everything again and maybe re-bleed.
Tx guys!
BTW...... should the brakes be as dead on as my 2010 RK?
38 years with this bike and the brakes were never "stop on a dime" quality.
