P.S. Buy a factory service manual, it will help you immensely.
This! And if still stock consider doing the seal off and ATF.

Unnecessary as it truly Is...It seems a Good Thing... And..ATF seems to escape on my Shovelhead Primaries.. Maybe because the MoCo speced Motor Oil!!
If it makes ya Feel Good....do It

But I got tired trying to find the information I needed.
Can you tell me what page that info is on please.
I have trouble finding lots if unfo in the maual.
Like today........I couldn't find the torque specs for the primary bolts!
I looked in what I thought were all the relevant categories but couldn't find the answer!
Anyway......tx brother!
I have hardcopies of the Service Manual, the Owner's Manual, and Parts Catalogue for my year and model of bike. I empathize with you about finding anything in these books.
What greatly increases the ease of finding stuff in these books is to also download PDF copies of these manuals. Then you can search for terms and find what you need much quicker than thumbing through the hardcopies.
It might take you a while to find the specific pdf manual online, but the search is worth it. I would avoid manuals which cover a range of years.
But definitely acquire both hardcopy and pdf.
