What valve seals do you have on your shovelheads?

A friend milled a Cometic valve seal .373 x .625 x .531 x .742 for me.
He milled the valve seal now the height is 0.345 (external height).
The height of the valve guides, with collar, is 0.380 and 0.390.
In fact, the valve seal does not rest on the collar.
Is this correct, or should the valve seals rest on the collars?

Depends on the cams lift its called travel - its measured from the top of the seal to the bottom of the top retainer with the keepers in place we have a special spring to hold this all together at its lowes point with a veneer caliper your need the min of .050 lets say you have .600 no bigger cam then a .550
but your seal is around .070 standing up on the guide - special tool cuts the top of the guide dome so the seal sits flush then the .600 cam would work
but you would need stronger valve springs as the stock ones are not long enough and would bottom out before .600 lift
this stuff is not a novis yea thats good enough approach

I measured the gap between the bottom of the spring retainer and the top of the valve seal and got 0.380" and 0.365".
Just out of curiosity I mounted the "obsolete" tin valve seals and measured 0.430" (,always little). Cometics have an upside of 0.050"
I mount the OEM cam which gives a valve height of 0.390". If I add 0.060" I get 0.450".
So when my valve is wide open it hits the gasket???
Even filing the valve seal I wouldn't earn enough.
Can I change valve guides? Cheapest solution
What other solution do I have to get the space I need?
The ones I have now seem very high to me.
