Default Headlamp upgrade

1983 FXSB with the stock 5 3/4" sealed beam headlight. I am wanting to upgrade to a LED headlight. I would like to keep the existing headlight bucket. Has anyone been able to do the conversion and also keeping the OEM bucket? My bike uses the headlight bucket for most of the wiring harness connections. I don't need anything fancy as far as the LED headlamp is concerned.

I put one in my 1986 sportster, to get it to fit in with all the other crap I had to grind down some of the lower cooling fins but seems to be working fine several years now. It is an inexpensive Amazon special.

Does the LED headlamp generate a lot of heat? For sure the sealed beam does.

sealed beams were a legal requirement in the USA for some unknown & dumb reason, but the law was changed many years ago now,
but i use a regular lens & fit H4 bulbs, far better light and throw on the road,
cheap and easy to change, and without the space issues involved in fitting LED's,...
personally i'm not keen of LED lights as the main light, hard to find if they go pop bang in the middle of nowhere, but H4 bulbe are in every gas station round the world,.... worth looking at in my book......

Same here, what I have noticed is that when riding with group, the LED lights can be seen for miles and the H4 basically become invisible in my mirrors, even if there are only H4 following me......this must make life waaaay safer having LED because then they can't say they didn't see you.

Moons MC. Maybe not the conventional look most are familiar with but I dont give a damn. Bright as hell and thick as a slice of bread.

Who makes the headlamp? Was it plug & play? Looks like my exact headlight bucket.

Eagle Lights also has an LED light that looks exactly like the Moons LED.
