Default Performance machine rear calipers

I picked up this PM caliper brand new for dirt cheap at a yard sale. Has anyone ever used this specific caliper for the rear on a 82 fxe? Any thoughts or help appreciated. I can’t find any rear mounts for it. I found one for a springer application that I could possibly modify?

PM and Jay Brake were very similar with that design and that one is a universal fit. the mounts were changeable to fit fronts or rears and bolted up using the 2 outside holes. You'll see them for sale on Ebay regular go hunting there it'll look something like this and some shops still sell then for big $$$, there's many configurations. The one you have was usually with a front kit.

Down side to that one is the thin little pads they use wear very quick and aren't cheap, it take 2 sets at $40+ a set.

I did this with a pair of JB calipers like those. Wanted something different and made the mount bracket & lines.

Let me dig around my stash boxes I may have a rear mount for that. I bought a van full of surplus stuff from Arlen Ness when he moved out of his original shop years ago.

Depends on what mount and positioning you end up with. I've used everything from the flat strap to heim joints and a rod. I'm assuming you got it cheap enough so you may find it's not practical for you and go with something else. How I ended with a couple crates of odd custom brake calipers & parts.

I've hooked a couple others with stuff I'm downsizing gradually.

this is the setup I had on my 45Magnum, I used the PM caliper mount & used 2 Hemi joints on I think i used Stainless 3/8'' might have been 7/16'' solid round bar thread cut on a Lathe,...
simple & only needs a tab to attach it to the frame or Swingarm depending on frame ya wanting it to fit,
I gotta admit it was a great rear brake & it would pull ya up real quick, highly recommended in my book.....

Default Mailing my own caliper bracket?

Okay so I can’t find a bracket anywhere so I just got some 6061 3/4. Question is what distance does the rotor need to be to the inside top or bottom of the caliper. (Depending on how I mount it) or as long as the pad make full contact I’m good?

Well fug, went through my stuff and I don't have that configuration, have the lower tab brackets sorry like in Pete's setup.

As long as the pads make full contact anything goes for a custom mount.

Picture and progress reports, this **** for the junkies.
