Hellownewman,
If you are interested in restoring your 72 FX super glide, I have nearly all the hard to find parts that you will need including the OEM inner fender, boat tail, seat, seat mounting bracket, exhaust, passenger pegs etc... Lots of stuff to offer. These are all left over from my 1971 FX Super Glide restoration.

Paul,
I think you will find that trying to reproduce an FX inner fender from an FL fender will be more difficult than you think. The problem is making the round depression where the tail light assembly goes. The other challenge is making the correct depression on the front of the fender that allows clearance for the oil tank.
I have seen it attempted by a couple experienced talented fabricators (even with an original on the bench to use as a pattern) and the out come was marginal. YMMV

Although I have seen a few other rear brake pedals tilted upwards like mine I decided to buy a used one and sure enough its wrong. I like that it would be lower (below the fx emblem) but there are significant differences that means it wont work. Harder to see with the camera angle but if the replacement pedal was on it would hit the engine nose cone. It lacks a grease nipple and the lower lever has no offset. The current pedal with the offset rod lever is dead on aligned with the master cylinder. The one on the bike doesn't look bent, no damage, no signs of heat applied, no cracks in the chrome. Im not 100% sure my current pedal has anything wrong with it.
