You will in the end - remove the cylinder heads and then replace the rocker box gaskets - dont re use the paper type - get the cometic foam over a thin alloy center
pulling them down even more will warp the top rocker boxes or even strip the thread or even brake off the stud in the head
that will add even more issues its a simple oil leak you now have - no its not easy to fix - but its what happens - the same day it started you might have had a chance of a wrench working but not 4 years later

I cannot but... One can pull the heads, certainly with engine in chassis, then address the Rockers... Like John said.
