CV carb fuel line routing question.

CV carb fuel line routing question.
Hey all,
I have been searching the threads and no luck. Working on changing out the super e to a cv carb. The cv carb I have installed is a 27421-99c.
I am at the point where the carb is mounted and am looking to figure out how I will route the fuel line.
It has a brass inlet elbow on it . However, it is pointing up and towards the motor at present. Running the fuel line up and over the intake and back down and up into the fuel shut off vale does not seem like it's the best way to go.
How are you guys with the cv carbs doing this.
Tx in advance Bruce.

You can twist that elbow (very carefully and slowly) to get it pointed more downward without it leaking. Clamp the fitting in a vise and twist the carb.
Mine's an older Evo that had a butterfly with the inlet on the right. I pointed the CV elbow about 10 o'clock (looking at the side), ran the fuel line under the manifold and up to the petcock. Been like that for 20 years, no issues. Just do whatever you need, so the fuel line isn't rubbing a cylinder fin.
Be aware, the CV is an excellent carb for these, but they are very intolerant of an intake leak. Remember that.

Thank you for responding. I was not sure if I could attempt to twist this fitting. I did not want to create more issues with this adventure lol. I am waiting on some items from Denis Kirks. One being a carb support bracket for this carb, but not this bike. I will use it to fab up a support to the center case bolt.
Ferg, tx for your response. I will look into this option before attempting to change the orientation of the fuel inlet fitting.

Got the left tank back on. Carb mounted up (still need to fab up a support bracket}.
Ran the fuel line up and over the intake manifold.
Took a bit to get her to fire up, but after a bit of tweekin she lit.
Had to throttle it a bit till she warmed up enough so I could start adjusting the air/fuel screw.
Was sneezing like crazy , but with a bit of patience, I got her to behave.
Checked for air leaks at the intake and none found.
Revs up smooth and no more sneezing. WooHoo.
Now if the damn snow would go away I could give her a good road test.
