Default Thoughts on price for 83 Shovelhead

I am going monday morning to look at a 1983 Wideglide. Spoke with the owner on the phone. Bike has 12,000 original miles, rubber is good, bike runs, has a Kejin(sp?) carb and says it runs and starts well with this setup, good paint no chrome pitting. Needs a new battery. Owner says charging system is OK battery just needs replacing. Asking $5,495.00.

What are your thoughts. This is my first shovel. I have mechanical skills and am lookingforward to doing some wrenching.

I have a 2003 heritage softail also.

Hi I am no expert on prices. I paid $6,200 last year for a 1980 FXWG One owner 26,000 miles

totally stock even the carb. I had to replace front and rear wheels. I live in Ohio. I hope this helps.

If it is in good shape with low miles seems like a more than fair price to me.
