Ok, please post only useful information in this thread about restoring process and tips for 1977-79 FXS lowrider specifically but other years are welcomed as well.

I will fire off with the OEM paint colors for the bike years 1977-1979

Finally solved once and for good!!! Your color is (was) "Charcoal Gray". Paint Code 98603-DZ. This information was sent to me from Motonit . I have one used and one unused can of this paint and will try to have it scanned and provide current formula code when available.

1978 ad photo

i know the late '78 aka 78 1/2 also came in black because that's what i had . the original photo is a bit dark if my memory is correct the actual bike was lighter than this . also if memory doesn't fail me this is the same colour as the '77 . not sure about '79 except i think there was one with the same grey with a black panel on the tank .

and biczeq do yourself a favour and don't **** off johnjzjz , he knows more about the bike you're asking about than the guys who assembled it at the factory .
post pics of what you've got and ask specific questions and you'll get better responses .

This is not a discussion thread and not about Superglides. I wanted it to be mainly a technical thread that I lead and if anyone wants to contribute do so but with Respect and strictly on the topic.

1977-1979 FXS Lowrider factory seat style called Hi-Low seat as pictured below. I am working to re-produce exact heat formed seat cover to restore many torn out seats.
