Default Clutch hub nut

Oh wise bothers....

Does this look like a standard clutch hub nut (excluding the previous owner "customizations")? Asking because when installed I'm not getting enough push rod to properly activate the BDL clutch. I can get more rod out when I turn the release lever stud WITHOUT the release lever installed but when the release lever installed it hits the shifter cover and stops the push rod travel.

Aftermarket but looks corrects sans "customization". You sure you have the correct length pushrod for your application.

Got a pic of waht you are referring to?

First thing to do is get another nut

4 different lengths in the pushrod are available

and 3 different throw out bearings

you never post what year so yes 2 different nuts are available but my guess yours is the later one

pull the kicker cover make sure the tob is not in pieces and picture up what you have and the the length of the pushrod.

I thought the same. 1978 FXE, not sure if trans orig and inner primary is CCI. It all started last spring when throw out bearing disintegrated and I replaced with pushrod 37285-75A, V-Twin Man Clutch Pushrod Bearing Kit - 18-0261and Eastern Performance 603165 Slinger (37228-75). After cleaning things out and riding a bit last summer, trans output shaft started leaking so took out and just rebuilt. My winter project...

I'll pull the kicker cover off again and takes some pics and measure. Thanks again guys.
