It’s been a while, my mechanic had me on the back burner but I’m really pushing to get the project done in time for the riding season. Crank and heads are sent out, and a couple weeks away from being done.

John - I ended up spending (possibly wasting) the cash on that S&S hydraulic kit for piece of mind. But I get what you’re saying... I managed to get a patina on those billet lifter blocks by blasting and chemically blackening them. This way they wont stand out too much against the patina I’m trying to keep.

Regardless, I’ve been told I can use the parts from an S&S or Ultima oil pump, but still the original pump cover / gasket. Has anyone every done this before?

The pump is 98-641 its the polished one fits 1973 to 1991 - i would use baking soda not glass beads.

OEM original 4 speed transmission has a 2 1/2 inch bushing inside of Hi gear that rides on the transmissions main shaft - SO DOES - andrews hi gear and BAKER hi gear

and at some time in the future they will all leak ((( its not IF its WHEN ))) because you can does not make it better with more money - think on that

I have a twinkie and that was funny as hell.

Thanks for clarifying John. I’ll post a pic of the back side as soon as he can get it off - for some reason this thing is really stuck.

Hey John - due to a rusty stud he had a hell of a time getting it off, but here's the picture he just sent of the back side of the pump. Please forgive the middle finger. He never can send a normal picture.

Let me know if you think this will work with the S&S or Ultima.

I dont know what your intensions are BUT the large screw on the oil pump is only the real pump and at all costs we save the real for restorations

if you do not use it and it could be for sale some one down the road will be very happy to own it i will also gladly pay shipping
