Default Front brake lines 1983 FXR

Pulled the front wheel off the today discovered that the front brakes lines are too short. This bike does not have the brake tee.The parts catalog shows part number 45124-83 as being the "hockey puck tee" and describes it as being one piece brake line.

You can see in the pic that the 90 pipe bends have been strained because of the short hoses and pulled down, the connection shows signs of weeping. I would like to replace both front brake lines. Although this looks like the factory set up for late 83's, is it aftermarket?

Here is a shot at how short the hoses are with the front wheel off the ground.

Before I pull things apart I wanted to get some ideas as to what the typical connection is at the hockey puck. The line replacement is a no brainer but I would like to change out the hard pipe also as I think it has been compromised.

That "T" is no more OE than the Lines... The Shovel FXR had a T under the tree... look at the Parts book for verification..
#44311-80
I do kinda recall that maybe the touring models had that pancake looking "T"... certainly shorter lines...due to shorter forks!

FXR and FLHT stuff does not really interchange...as you see....But... it can be done If [big Word] if you pay attention!!!

I DO PAY ATTENTION, that's how I discovered the brake line were to short. The brake lines themselves are obviously not black rubber hose like OEM.

That's where I got the part number I posted ... copied from Parts catalog FXR, FXRS models 1982-83 -" index number 24 part number 45124 brake line (one piece).....Late 83 to*-FXR, FXRS"
Are you saying the parts cat is wrong? Seems that some things were changed in late 83 on the FXR and FXRS so maybe you have not seen any since it may have affected a small number of machines.

What I need to know is how I measure the fitting that goes into the pancake? I'm thinking it is an inverted flare, are thee threads NPT? I got the info about AN measurements and mine measure to be 4AN for the hose ends.

That's a 3/8-24 flare end, with a an3 male on the other end. Don't think I've ever seen a an4 fitting on a motorcycle.
Here's one on ebay.

No FXR expert, but braided lines are NOT factory, and I would not expect to see any chrome either. Should be rubber hoses, whatever part that is, it is not from the MoCo and apparently also not compatible with your application. Sucks, but at least you found out now.

Im running russel braided lines on my 84, they look like the OP's lines. I just measured what I needed and added a bit to allow them forks to extend without a surprise brake hose disconnection. Didn't order based on application.

I would call or look up Russell brake lines. I think they know the correct sizes for the year of your bike. I would order the two 90's and add two more inches to the braided lines and you should be good.

The way my '83 looks... Braided lines and all..."T" is Decidedly Not Chrome...
But, I believe the Pancake for the touring models was in fact chrome..tho, if I recall correctly... it was solid lines in and out... not Brake line fittings... which, far as i know, was always inverted flare [just like automotive stuff] until the banjo cane along!!!

The hose fittings were-3AN as others suggested and the hockey puck tee is set up for a 3/8-24 inverted fitting. Ordered the stuff today. I have not done any brake hose work in the past so this morning when I was doing my research the info available took a while to digest.
Thanks for those that replied to help me out.
The good news is that the brake fluid was purple so I know it was DOT5,
