thanks. i like my 3.5 gal tanks as i said ive got the original guards and tail light .but to me it sat to high off the tyre. at one stage i was thinking of 5 gal tanks .plain black with panhead badges.

I feel that 5 gal bobs ruin the sleekness of the FXS... better on a Wide front end...
I would loose the salt shaker derby, [plain is nice], and turn the air scoop horn back down ....and Ride ... it really is sweet...
may be nice to put the highway pegs back on...

BTW, that seat is tugging at me... quite nice IMO

thanks got the pegs the derby is to vent the belt primary.some say its not necessary.didnt know the horn was the wrong position,been like that since i bought the bike in 84/your idea on tanks make sense

not low rider shocks those are superglide shocks front end shocks are just like mine, why does most people change their origional low rider front shocks to super glide shocks -----do the superglide shocks handle better?

What do you perceive the difference is??? Shocks on Rear are identical by my reconning...and front ends [Forks] are as well...
Even the FXR uses that front end!!!

im under the impression there original.i dont believe the original owner changed them

My custom primary cover? It was cut out by one of the previous owners. I got tired of stressing about debris get into the belt drive so i got a little creative

I see no need to butcher a primary over a Belt... been running enclosed with zero ill effects for Years/Miles...All more Internet B.S,
Alignment is a belt killer as well as improper tension... Heat???? Never been proven..
