Default Fender?

The front fender has been replaced with a repro unit on my 76 FLH. It has some badly drilled and misplaced holes as well as hogged out mounts-courtesy of the previous owner. All of it is fixable, but I'd rather replace it with an original. I figure that I'll need to fix the OE fender too and might as well fix an original. Are there any markings that I can look for to show that a fender is original equipment? Thanks!

My understanding is that with the front fenders of that vintage it is hard to tell OEM from repop. And there are a million repop fenders out in the world. Best bet would be an AMCA swap meet, sometimes holding it in your hands helps as far as the weight and feel of the gauge of steel. Not very helpful I know. Good news, once you straighten one out, no one else is going to know if it is OEM either. Good luck.

I think you're on to something there! The biggest reason that I think this is a reproduction is that it never had paint on the underside. PO had a decent repaint done years ago-on top but nothing underneath!

Chrome brackets and screws are correct? Tell me it isn't so.
