I don't think you can get an offset sprocket for a drum so I made the spacer and the front one there's no room between the inner primary and transmission for one either. Moving the trans and primary over is the plan.

Clear cad plating done, loaner shocks on, just waiting on my wheels and it'll be on the ground to have a look.

if you go backwards and use the tin primarys and an off set trans bottom plate you get a shift to the right only

an electric starter is available for the tin set that sort of hides the starter

I like the tin primary on the older bikes but not on this one. Ill run the belt inside the original primary as you suggested.

This is a sample of the DID chain. Says 50VX on the links and its less than a mm wider than my original chain. Clears up front no problem, Ill know today if the new tire screws up my plans.

Got my wheels back and the first thing I did was measure the tire width. My Dunlop 180 was maybe a 32nd under 7" and this Michelin is 6.75". I could see right away that the sprocket seemed further away from the tire so my chain will clear even with the wider o-ring DID chain. Its nice to have something go easy for a change! So now I can order a chain and move the transmission / primary over a 1/4".

I removed my front forks to take them apart and have a look. I think Im going to need shorter tubes because I think the wideglide had longer forks. Ill know once I take them apart.

Trying to arrive at a solution for the cheesy OEM single piston floppy callipers. I can re-bush them and the lowers so they just suck like they would when new or change them up. Stock is two 10" rotors, RK is two 12" rotors give or take a 1/16" with 4 piston callipers (with RK lowers) but changes the look. Ill see what it looks like tomorrow when the bike is on the ground.

Thinking out loud, I could have two rotors made to look like the 10" I guess. Have a friend laser cut them RK size out of stainless steel and have them ground flat.

the clackey calipers can be made to stop making noise by using 2 faced tape between the leading face of the caliper and the back of the fork leg

I've read that before in this section and I can see where that would be a suitable solution for some situations but I don't want to go that route on this build. Im thinking RK lowers, 07 callipers and one-off rotors that look period correct.
