21014 SE110 motor uncorked
Ah....man, I love this bike.
I remember riding a couple stock 2011/2012 CVO touring bikes and I couldn't help that my built-up 103' SG felt noticeably stronger. I was a bit disappointed by the SE110. Then I heard that for all the great upgraded internals, it still came with the same generic cam as every other twin-cam has since 2000.
Being told that the 2014's came with the SE255 cam (Finally!) was the last deciding factor in me getting the new CVO RK.
And now I have my new pipes (V&H Big Radius) and the PC-V....and got it tuned yesterday.
The PC-V for the 14's is so new it had a few glitches and hiccups, so if anyone else gets a PC-V for a new 14 CVO.....well, do full firmware upgrades to current version, and then check the polarity/settings on the throttle input voltage. Apparently HD reversed the polarity and didn't tell anyone.
Anyway, so despite the issues, we did a few baseline dynos using a map I copy-pasted to the 14's PC-V that was for a 2009 CVO Touring with Andrews 54G cams.
It peaked at 112.1 Ft-Lbs at the wheel. That alone impressed me!
By the time he was done, I was peaking at 115 Ft-Lbs! Best pull was 115.6
My SG had a 103' motor with 10:1 pistons and 54H cams, and it's best dyno ever was just 105.1 Ft-Lbs.
So, with exact same pipes, practically the exact intake (SG had the Heavy Breather, versus the Heavy Breather Elite), and almost exact same cams. But even with considerably higher-compression pistons, it still came up short by 10% compared to the new SE110.
I dig it.
I loved my SG, but this confirms to me that I have ZERO regrets on trading it in for this Road King.

I agree that the stock CVO 110 ci engines deserve a CAM uprade. Allow me to add that (my) factory 08 SERK already has SE255 CAMs, although it does not make it any better. These CAMs are engineered to comply with Californian and international emission standards in first place. Feuling Reaper 574s gave it the kick at low RPMs that was missing and significantly better torque at any RPM. Andrews, Woods and others do the trick as well in one way or the other.

Was the 2011 CVO a stock bike?
With the tour-pak, fairing, etc it's more weight. Also you said you RODE one. Test ride vs owning a bike that you are use too can seem different.
Once you get your piggy bank reloaded, may I suggest to you to get a turner. TTS Mastertune Turner (is my choice) and getting rid of your stock header will make both YOU and your BIKE much, much more happy!
Congrats on your new ride,
YB

It was stock, yes. And I rode it when I had my Streetglide, and it didn't feel like pulled nearly as hard. *shrug*
I know that's really just more perception than anything, but I was expecting it feel like MORE. But yea, I'm always accepting that it's probably perception.
And I've already got it tuned. Got a PC-V with the exhaust, and had it tuned last week. (I got the pipes & PC-V on the previous Thursday, but thanks to the big Auto Show, the shop was closed all weekend).
On the last three dyno runs as he adjusted things, I went from 112.1 Ft-Lbs to a final run of 115.6 Ft-Lbs.
