Default Transmission plug

I just bought a 2003 Screamin' eagle deuce CVO 100 yr aniv. model. Couple of basic questions. Ordered the service manual and owners manual so haven't been able to check the basics.

Is the plug under the trans. and between theshocks the drain plug for the trans.? There is a bit of oil on that plug. Does it require an o-ring or any kind of sealer on the threads? Hand tighten or torque to what lbs? It isn't leaking much, but I would like to make it dry.

This is the first fuel injected bike that I have owned. No petcock. Does the tank have a reserve? I thought I read that there is a light on the gauge or on in the gas tank cap that came on when it's low on gas.

I gotta say, this bike is the best ridin bike ever. I love it. It's in perfect condition and only 5000 miles when I bought it. It's so smooth. Any thing I should look out for or be aware ofon this bike. I have a 73 sporty and a 05 1200 custom sportster, so this bike is a whole new world for me!I will post a picture later so you can check it out.

Thanks,

RBW

Default RE: Transmission plug

Welcome to the forum.

There is a o-ring on the trans drain plug. I always inspect it and replace it if needed. No sealant is used. I'll have to check for the tourqe specs. I normally just hand tighten it.

The EFI bikes do not have a researve in the tank.

20-24oz of your favorite lube and tighten that plug to 14-21 ft-lbs after checking/replacing that O-ring before you pour it in. At least that's what my 05 manual calls for. The book also stresses cleaning the plug well and not over tightening.
