I fell in love with the 2012 road glide cvo black/white when I saw it at a rally about 9 months ago. The timing wasn't right but I figured Spring would be the time. Well, started the search about 1 month ago. Local dealer was same story as you found - bikes usually sold before they get there and slapping $5k onto msrp. They even had a used 2011 street glide they were asking over msrp for.

People are willingly paying it so it's hard to blame the dealer. I'm not going to pay the premium - so was pretty discouraged.

Anyhow, started calling around and found some dealers who sell at msrp. They are out there. Do your homework and legwork and you will find one.

I picked mine up on Saturday!

Good luck.

Default Since you asked

I didn't want to throw salt on wound but the bike is freakin awesome! I had not seen one in about 9 months and it is way better than I even remembered. Everybody at dealer and customers were commenting on it. It's a real head turner. Again, good luck. I hope it works out for you.

They paid me $19,500 for my 2 tone root beer 2011 Limited with 6,500 miles on it, and I got the Skunk for MSRP + tax but no freight and setup. My bike was a hair shy of $34K out the door with the 5 year ESP including wheels and tire, a $100 gift card, and my wife got the $170 HD boots she wanted free, also free 1K service. It does help that this is the 4th bike I have bought from them, but there are dealers around doing MSRP no freight and setup.

Shop around man there's deals out there. Good luck in your search.

so I finally got a deal put together I found a dealer that is selling the bike at MSRP $30,700 and throwing in some highway pegs it is about 6 hours from my house do you think I should fly and get the drive the bike back or should rent a trailer and bring it back?

only think that really concerns me is the windshield

It does vey well in wind fixed faring is a pleasure. I also did the tour pack because I also came from an ultra ltd. Mine is detachable but I leave it on. I don't think I will ever take it off. It looks great and when you are used to the storage, you can't go back.
