Not to take this thread off track--but I need to say this.....yeah..you could put $10k into your $18K bike and you know what it's worth when go to sell it?? Kiss that extra $10K goodbye.....plus whatever you will lose on the bike. CVO's cost more, but they retain their value way better.
But whatever makes you happy....but you don't see me bashing your choice do you?
As for the orginial post and question...I was never really crazy about the road glides...but that's why they make different models.....

This will be my first CVO and I can't wait!

I did ! I really wanted a used 2009 Orange / Black CVO Road Glide. I looked within a 300 mile area. I found 10 bikes. Price ranged from 27k to 31k. The bike only cost 30k new. My dealer had the exact bike I wanted, 09 Orange and black 20,000 miles, I offered him 27,500, he turned me down, and he said he really wanted to sell it. ( I wouldn't sell it for that either if I knew it was worth 30k)
I bought a 2012 CVO Road glide for MSRP. Traded my 2009 Road Glide in. The 09 was absolutly stock. Not one extra part, no mufflers, no chome anything. I put on about 20,000 miles a year. That's just the way I am. I just like to buy a scooter and ride it. I figured this was the best way to buy a custom key turn scooter. The really cool part is after I get done with it I should get most of my money back, and If I take a bath I could care less, because like I said I really enjoy riding and that is worth all the money in the world.

A CVO Road Glide will be my next bike. I'm on a 2012 Street Glide now and plan on putting plenty of miles on it but when it's time to trade it'll be a RG. It seems to me when you start nickle and diming I see the value in a CVO Road Glide, maybe not the other CVO's but the RG price seems pretty reasonable.

I've always had a roadglide in the garage for the last 10 years, of vararing years. The reason I bought a CVO Roadglide was all the used ones, (2009) I looked at we're $29,000.00, and only cost 30K to begin with. I really enjoy riding and don't put on any goodies. So if I can buy a new CVO RG, and sell in three years for what I paid for it, I'm Happy. As far as preformance, a 110 is pretty sweet for me. A riding buddy of mine put a tuner and pipes on, and got 100 hp and 115 fpt. I could live with that.
