Default Softail Windshield 2011 vs 2012

I bought a 2011 CVO Softail this past spring. Previous bike was a 2006 ultra classic. I love everything about my CVO but the turbulence I get behind the windshield. I was spoiled with the ultra but I wasn't expecting MORE turbulence with the windshield on. I bought a taller windshield from Cee Baileys but it didn’t help. After some experimenting it seems like the wind comes up over the gas tank. I searched the site and found a few folks complaining about this. I have not determined if the Chrome wind deflectors fit this bike but that is my next step. I was checking out the 2012 CVO Softail and they specifically mention a taller, wider windshield and new lower wind deflectors that look like they are attached to the windshield itself and not the forks. Does anyone know if we can retro-fit those new lower wind deflectors to the earlier CVO softail windshields?

Harley’s spent a lot of resources making the touring side of the CVO Softail Convertible more pleasurable, redesigning the windshield, going both taller and wider in an effort to reduce wind blast around the head and torso. The new design features the addition of two new lower wind deflectors as well. Its most noticeable result is less windblast to the head.</SPAN>

Found the answer in another forum. This thread has part numbers for the 2012 parts; wind deflectors, windshield, GPS mount.

I ordered a Steath SS-20 fairing for mine, it was on sale for $185. It should be here in about 1 week, I'll try to do a review. Check them out in the windshield section at LeatherUp.com and type in stealth ss-20 fairing. I think it will do a good job and look great.

Default CVO Softail Conv. windshield

Found this site today that offers several different styles of windshields for the 2010 and 2011 Softail Conv. I will let everyone know how good they are after I get mine.
