Default Rider back rest for 2012 CVO Street Glide

I just bought a 2012 CVO Street Glide and I like the stock seat but I just want to add a riders back rest to the bike that will work with the stock seat. Does anyone know the part numbers that I need to order?

Sorry no pics I am out of town and the bike is at home but it is the citrus orange model.

Supposedly a rider backrest does not work with the 2012 CVO's.

my 2009 RG CVO SE has the stock seat that is low, barely stuffed, and with the HD drivers backrest, the backrest ends up sticking up WAY too tall above the seat ...

I went with a Utopia, works fine, looks fine, though not the adjustable on the fly like the HD one, but once it's set it usually fine, I can actually reach the adjustment screw on the back for tweeking while driving ... so it actually is adjustable on the fly

No riders backrest on the Streetglide or Roadglide! Posted on the CVO Forum website.

I just picked up a black-white Cvo road glide. Same issue exists. The seat is low and sleek but no slot for a back rest. I pulled my back rest off my ultra thinking I might look for a seat that would work with it. I will need to do more research. The dealer assures me since the frame is the same it will work.

I am jealous, that is the bike that I am looking for. Post Pics when you can and let us know how the backrest issue comes out. I'm not exactly young anymore and will be looking for one also, never ride without it.

The riders back rest will work with the 12 CVO's but not with the seat it comes with. I have the 12 CVO Skunk RG.

I bought a 2011 SG CVO seat to use on my non-CVO 2011 SG. It has the slot in the seat. So you guys wanting a backrest may need to buy the 2011 CVO seat.

Default 2012 CVO Street Glide Rider Backrest

Great news: There's now a solution available. Grasshopper Limited has just designed and made available a rider backrest specifically for the new 2-part seats that come on the 2012 CVO Street Glide. I just got one for mine, and it is AWESOME! It's a snap to install, looks great, feels great, can be used both with or without the passenger pylon seat, and is reasonably priced. Lonnie, the owner, was excellent to work with, and you'll probably have to contact him directly because it may take awhile for this new version to be listed on their web site. Their website address is: www.grasshopperlimited.com, their email address is: bf4cm28@yahoo.com, and their phone# is: 608-346-1337.
