Default House and Harley burned to ground....

4 days before Christmas my home burned down. My family awoke and escaped in pajamas at 1:30am. We thank God we all are safe safe, but we lost our pet. The fire started in the attached garage and it appears the Lexus RX 330 caught fire inside it behind the right front head light. I had fire detectors in my home and they were all linked together, unfortunately there was not one in the garage. By the time we were alerted by explosions the fire jumped into the second floor. We lost all we owned.
I loved my 1997 ultra classic and would never have replaced her. All she ever asked for was 1 stator and regular maintenance. RIP.
I purchased the new 2011 Candy Cobalt Blue CVO Ultra. She is beautiful and considering she has flames I wonder if was supposed to be. I set out for a standard Ultra but when i saw the blue CVO I could not walk away. I think of the story of the Phoenix rising from the ashes............ Please protect your families with smoke detectors in your attached garages, and if possible link them so they trigger detectors in bedrooms, etc. I never thought it could happen to me.

Fire is a terrible thing..Helped a friend out over the Winter that lost everything..That picture of your old bike sure brought back some pictures in my head about his fire..Glad to see that you have a new bike and would imagine that your life is getting back in order..

Very good point, I have 4 in the house, but none in the garage. Thanks for the heads up.

Glad everyone is safe, feel bad about the pet.

The new bike looks great Larry.

I liked that one from the day it came in.

Hope you're enjoying it.

So glad to hear that everyone is ok, my condolences for the loss of your pet.

Thanks for the helpful advice for the detectors in the garage, putting one up tomorrow.

God speed on your recovery from this terrible disaster and let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Bob

Everything is replaceable ( even a cherished bike ) except for a human life. Glad to hear that your family made it out unharmed. Good luck with your new ride!!!

+1 on the fire detector for the garage, only bikes, no cars, but you never know.

Am I missing something? That blue bike looks cool! But it sure doesn't look like a CVO Ultra Classic.....
