2010 ultra 110 exhaust decision!
I tried this thread in the touring section and it fell flat. Not a single opine . Anyway when I bought my 10 cvo ultra last year new it was so quiet you could hear the valves tapping! In 4000 miles the exhaust has gotten considerably louder thank god but still not very potent when you stand on it. Bike is bone stock still . So, issue is will different slipons give a strong growl with the throttle . Have you tried this? Dont want extremely loud. Buddy has and 11 street glide that sounds much better new stock than mine did . Both have cats of course . Thx for any input!

vance and hines head pipes (fit the best imo) if looking for stock routing (which keeps pipe away from starter and coil) and some kind of muffler of your choice. I went with kurakyn's crusher mufflers, at the time, only a couple choices for a 4" muffler, now there's many, but the crusher is very well made sounds great, and performs excellent, would recommend some kind of breather system and a fuel management change, it all just snowballs!! V&H is always a great choice for exhaust systems, get rid of that cat!! (I tell my wife the same thing!)

1. I have a 2009 Ultra SE CVO. Initially I added only the fulsac 2 inch replacement cores inside the stock 4 inch mufflers. Cheap, easy upgrade in the way the bike sounds. I think the cost was under $125. This did not change the way the bike ran at all but it sounded stronger. I felt the Fulsac cores were a little louder than I cared to hear at 70-80 mph. It seemed a bit of a harmonic drone.
2. I swapped out the 4 inch mufflers and replaced with Khrome Werks 3.5" HP Plus slip-ons. These were only a tad quieter than the Fulsac cores overall but had a more likeable, deeper tone that was a pleasure to hear at 75 mph and still listen to the stereo without issue. The bike also felt a little stronger in the lower mid range rpms.
3. Still running the Khrome Werks after a couple thousand miles I added a SE Super Tuner and did my own tuning with the track procedure they list. Bike runs a little stronger across the 2300-4400 rpm torque range. Averaged 40 mpg running 75-80 mph and some town speeds. I added the SEST mainly to cool the bike down and it did accomplish that.
4. Replaced stock catalytic headpipe with Fulsac headpipe. Holy moly, I have a totally different bike. Lots more torque at lower rpm than ever showed itself before. Much stronger midrange acceleration. Cooled the bike down a little more at the right foot area. But the bike is now much more fun to ride and the fuel mileage is back up the the 42-43 mpg it got in stock form.
NOTE: I liked the headpipe change so well that I've since changed the headpipe on the wife's FLHXXX as well. The XXX has the SE Fatshotz mufflers on it. AND YES, adding a catless headpipe does make whatever mufflers you have on the bike louder. Not by an awful lot, but definitely louder. Both our bikes also seem deeper in tone as well though, so it's all good IMHO.
