Default New se 120r engine

Does anyone here know what kind of mods must be done and if it is possible to stick the 120r in a 2004 roadglide frame? They say it is for 07 and later touring bike and o6 and later dynas

I can't answer your question, but there is a long thread over in Touring where a few of these engines have been fitted. The answer may be over there, or someone may answer it for you.

It sounds like you have an ambitious project.

The big change is the primary & trans are different, so you would at least have to have a new primary, trans & starter.

the new 120R is not designed for the pre 2007 bikes. The oil passages are different. if you want a 120 or larger engine for the pre 2007 bike you will need to buy a jims or other alternative twin cam type engine.

the pre 2007 oil passges route externally and the 2007 and after route internally. You could adapt it but it would require you to change trans cases as well.

my thoughts based on examination of the 120R and other alternatives

I bought an S&S crate motor, fitment 99-06.. They were on sale back thru the end of September, both the T111 and the T124, either fuel injected or carb..

that was a good sale; I missed it but if you check and call some shops you can still get the 111 for almost the sale price with a three year warranty -- did you get the 111 or 124?
