Any Regrets on CVO Purchase?

'02FLHRSEI very late S/N. I bought mine just before the '03s were introduced. Other than that stupid black oil vent line I am very happy with mine. As a bike intended to lead the HD lineup in styling for 2002 the sure missed that one.
In just over 9 years I've had no unexpected issues, except to pull and reinstall a couple fuses to re-authentacate the security system.
This bike did a great job to wean me off of 4-speeds. Good job H-D

This is the second CVO I've owned, the first was a 2002 Road King. Had a BMW touring bike and a Ultra Limited in between. They were all good bikes but the CVO Road Glide Ultra is the best bike I've ever owned. Between the style, features, engine torque, comfort and handling it would take more than just new cosmetics from Harley to get me to get rid of it. As a matter of fact a 120" EPA compliant engine wouldn't even do it. I'm that happy with it. I love that Rio Red!

Got a 2011 Road Glide Ultra CVO. 9 days later with 950 miles on the clock a engine valve broke loose. Had to have it towed to dealership. It took 18 days to get it back to me. During those 18 days I had doubts and regrets.
MoCo made good on warrantee and credit me towards my Stage lll engine mods. Another $2,400 out of pocket for a total of $42K in it.
Two weeks now and another 1K miles on the clock with another oil change out of the way, I'm beginning to forgive the earlier break down.
One thing I do notice now is that a few HD owners that never met me seem to have an attitude towards what I now ride. I didn't experience this on my Dyna or my RK. I guess now after riding for 40 years am perceived as being a RUB due to my latest purchase. Well screw them. I'm still the same guy that will stop to render aid to a fellow biker on the side of the road.
My RG is running stronger and feels more solid with less engine noise and heat since I first purchased it. I hope to put at least 30K miles on her in the next 12 months.

Yeah, folks up here are talking about you being a RUB!
With all respect, it looks like your whole ordeal with the engine break down, and keeping a VERY cool head paid off for you. I am truly glad it worked out.
Nice usable numbers for your stage III. What cams are in that package?

Love mine...
Love mine. Rio Red/Black Ember has to be seen to be appreciated. Stunning colors. Sweetest exhaust note I ever heard on my Bub Straight 8's TDX. Tweaked with Power Commander V and Autotuner.
Miss my old '03 Ultra though. Had it just the way I wanted it, 'till idiot road crew directed me into a sand dune.
