2010 CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide..Opinions Wanted
Question and Opinions Wanted: I have a 2007 Softail Heritage with a lot of extras built up over the past few years...maybe $5000+ in extras and My wife and I often take it on short weekday evening rides and longer weekend rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I have the chance to get a 2010 CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide in the Crimson Mist Black Dark Slate color scheme. My local Stealer said he would give me about $15000 in trade and the 2010 Ultra Classic will be about $36,000. Ya, I know all the arguments pro and con but $20,000 for a new bike when I don't really need one (Heritage is 100%) is a lot of money. Opinions Please? Jim

I Love that color combination and if money was NO object I would have it sitting in my garage. However, I cannot afford $36K and my 06 isn't paid off yet so trading it and making an big down payment isn't an option. I say if you like the bike and have the means go for it. The wife will be much happier with the ride and maybe your rides will get longer and longer. Bryan

I just got an '09 Ultra ( not CVO) last year after 140,000 miles on a '91 FLHS. I really dig it. Never had a fairing before, I couldn't imagine not going for it and not looking back. An old man , back in the 70's told me " once your an Electra Glide man, your allways an Electra Glide man". He's right. It's like sitting in an easy chair, strapped to the hood of a Cadillac, going down the road , at 60 miles per hour.....my 2cents

Go for it I just did! Traded in the last of the chrome springer front ends for a 2010 CVO Blue/Silver. Miss the springer and it's nostalgia but the ride of the Ultra is incredable. The Springer got plenty of looks but this CVO gets even more. And if your already riding a HD then money is not much of an issue. This is a club of "wants", not needs.

I have a 2003 Fatboy and bought a 2010 SE Ultra in August. I definitely prefer the Ultra to the Fatboy although I didn't feel that way at first. The SEUC ride felt too high compared to the Fatboy. But overtime the Ultra's handling was so superior it easily is now the more enjoyable ride. Once you factor in the greater storage, sound system and conveniences like a garage door opener, heated seat, LED lighting for the bags and the greater power, there's really no comparison. But then again for the $ it should be better.
Personally, there's absolutely no way I'd be interested in an all blacked out SE Ultra. It's actually rather rather ugly in my opinion and trying far to hard to look like a "bad azz". Maybe it works for others but there's absolutely no way it would find a space in my garage.
I still have the Fatboy but I have a feeling if I find myself only riding the Ultra the Spring, I'm likely to part with the Fatboy.
2010 SE Ultra with detach TP and Streetglide seat.
2003 Fatboy all chromed out
