Default 2004 CVO S/E Electra Glide - Input

Looking for input or advice from owners on any issues to watch out for on the '04 FLHTCSE. I've always liked the orange/black '04 and have an opportunity to pick one up at a reasonable price. Mileage is 14K, with Rinehart duals and Race Tuner. I know about the issue with peeling chrome on the wheels, but these were already replaced according to current owner. This would most likely be ridden solo only as I just bought another bike for 2-up riding to replace the '09 Rd Glide. Anything else to be on alert for? Appreciate any input from anyone who who has or has had one. Thanks.

don't mean to rehash an old thread, but how are you liking it? There is an 04 of the same model at my local dealer and it is tempting me something fierce! The orange and black looks sick!

Well, it didn't stay around very long; had an opportunity to make some $$ on it, so sold it pretty quickly. Loved the color and look of the bike, not so much the ride. After having an '09 Rd Glide with the new frame, add'l motor mount, bigger rear wheel/tire, going back to the ride of an '04 model wasn't going in the right direction for me. Of course, I'd ridden probably 100K+ miles on pre-09's and never thought much about any shortcomings, but once you've experienced the improved ride on the new stuff, then you notice the difference; being on the far side of 60 probably also has a lot to do with that. To be honest, it was the orange/black color on the '04 that sucked me in. But, if you can get a pretty good deal on this one and don't mind the extra bouncing around at idle speeds, I say give it a shot.

its not really that great of a deal (at least not yet...haven't even tried to negotiate with the dealer yet), I also just fell in love with the look. for the price, I could most likely get a newer model.
