Congratulations... I bought the same bike last Christmas and have 9600 trouble free miles on it. When my wife first saw that color combination, she said "I want that one!" and we haven't regretted her decision since. There's always someone coming over to check it out and tell us how much they like the custom paint and chrome. Comments like that make you feel pretty proud.

If it's not already done, pull the header before spring and have the catalytic converter removed, get it tuned and hang on !

Haven't done anything at all to her but ride her. I hate these stock pipes, too damn quite for me. Someone said the slip on are ok and only a few hundred bucks. With things changing all the time in CA, keeping it close to stock is important. Now they are talking about smogging all bikes in CA.

Yea, the stock pipes make it sound like a small boat motor... Instead of paying $700 or more on aftermarket pipes, I decided to buy a slightly used "stock" exhaust from another CVO owner and then modify it. He already had 2.25" Fullsac baffles installed so all I had to do was cut his header in half, remove the cats and weld it back up. I'm real happy with these baffles because they have a nice deep bark when you get on it and a mellow rumble on the road so you can hear the radio. My friends say they sound a lot like Rineharts. If you do it this way, you'll have your original pipes intact, it'll save you a lot of money and they'll sound great.

Pipes is the first thing I will do but also want to do someother things such as highway pegs because I do a lot of long distence riding. Oil cooler as well, it lowered my temp on the deluxe by 12-15 degrees.

Major engine and heat problems that cause other issues, melted spark plugs, mechanical and electrical issues because of excessive heat, . The 09 models currently have a gas tank/frame recall. There was or is a recall on the tires. There is a service bulletin on brake squeal. There is a service bulletin for the rear rubber ISO hub, several others that you will have to get from an "honest" Harley dealer. Most won't tell you about the service bulletins because they do not want to do them. The 110 engine has a vibration between 2100 and 2800 RPM Harley is aware of and is working on.....yea right. 5th gear trans whine, some worse than others. Excessive engine noise in the valve train, chrome peeling issues............................................ ...............on and on.

I have an 08 Ultra SE3, I did not get the extended warranty, (my bad) nothing but problems, continued engine issues even after two complete sets of heads and jugs. Has a bad engine vibration around 2500 RPM. Hard to start. Starter kicks out just before it starts. Harley is aware of all these issues and may or may not do anything about it, just how well you know and trust your dealer.

I have a Power Commander, K&N and V&H tru duals with stock SE exhaust, excessive heat continues to be an issue, turned the left V&H muffler blue, they won't warranty excessive heat, went back to the stock SE mufflers, actually like them better. Stopped the decell popping.

Thats why I would suggest the longest extended warranty you can get and get to know your local Harley dealer, hopefully he is an honest one and won't give you a run around.

I can assure you I won't buy another Harley especially a CVO until they work out the continued problems. I just ride my 09 Goldwing and leave the Harley in the garage waiting on the next recall or engine problem.

Steve
Wow Steve, you sure know how to congratulate someone that just spent a lot of money on a new bike and was as proud of his purchase as if he had just given birth to it!!! To bad you seem to have so many problems with American iron. I rode Goldwings many years ago also, but I will never own another. Just my personal preference. They are a fine bike, but they also have their problems. I will not cut your bike down, and I would hope from now on you do not cut other peoples bikes down. Just a thought.

Barry,
Your bike came with an oil cooler. Look down below your oil filter. It's wrapped in chrome of course
