Sorry I'm late,
Gentlemen, it really does't matter what the HP or Torq readings are, if you haven't got the mileage on the clock to have broken in the engine.
How many of you have a 6th gear that barely holds unless you are doing 65mph? Exactly my point! You don't have the K's to allow it to work for you.
Bob the Oil guy another blog says it takes a min of 10K to break in a big V-Twin on syn oil. If you have changed the oil @2500, not 5K you can probably double that. If you are like some and used Amsoil it will take even longer.
Because of the Warranty implications, I have let the service dept put in the Syn3, and changed it out @2500 later with Amsoil. I am approaching 25K and the engine still seems to be evolving.
Now that I have gotten over the hump, 6th gear will pull a steep hill at 55mph and accelerate.
For what's it's worth......Jack

got to slow down MC, you're using up to many tires.
sounds like you have less than 5K on the clock. Are you experiencing the chopping action at the rear wheel? early in my relationship with this bike, the rear wheel would bite, slip, bite, slip due to the cylinders firing under acceleration, usually on a wide enough turn. once I got enough miles over 5K, I could drift the rear wheel on gentle bends with no chop.
you will have to dig into the forums to find the V-twin window. Have not been here for a while. You will find oil wear analysis on all kinds of stuff in here.....Jack
PS someone has a complaint against him because he would not let them discuss "BITRON" in depth. I'll look it up and see what I can find out.
