Pissed Off!
I have a 2007 FXDSE 110. Last fall I was taking a short little 1 1/2 hr road trip when a mile from the camp site the oil light comes on. Not good! I thought I could at least baby it to the site but no luck. She was running a little rough so I just pulled in the clutch and let off the gas and she shut right down. Long story short, called the dealership they were there in twenty min. Bottom end of the engine separated causing the oil pump to fail. All covered under warranty. Except I chose to pay a $100 to have it welded so that it would never separate again. They gave me all new bottom end and new pistons. Not bad. Well this spring I'm cleaning it up and noticed that all most every one of my hottoppers are gone. I paid a $130 for those and now there gone. What can I do? Do I call up the dealership and bitch or am I screwed? The engine taking a crap didn't make me as mad as my toppers missing. Give me some feed back boys.

This late in the game, you're probably out of luck. Now if it had been a couple of days is one thing but you're talking a few months after the fact. They'll probably refer to "You should have looked bike over when picking it up and mentioned that then".
Of course, it won't hurt to go back to them and bring the subject up with service manager. Be friendly about it and not start off being confrontational and see where it goes from there.
Good luck.

Sounds like you were treated right by your dealership. You say they were there in 20 minutes and fixed your bike under warranty with no hassle. Sounds like you have a pretty good relationship with them. If you go in there after all this time and mention a lost item (which indeed they probably forgot to replace while they were trying to get you back on the road) they will label you ungrateful and probably treat you as such from here on out. If it was me, I would buy the hottoppers again, and keep the relationship cool. On the other hand, you could stop in and mention it casually, feel them out, if they don't know where they are, drop it.

Hot Toppers....click on this link..... http://www.hottoppers.com/home.asp
Tech's hate them but it increases their labor time and are a nusciance for them.....but they sure make the motor look nice. Especially a CVO motor that's already pretty well tricked out.
