Cataleytic converter in an '09 CVO
#11
If you want to see what the head pipe looks like with the CC, check out the link below. I just swaped out my stock CVO head pipe on my '09 FLTRSE3 with a head pipe from a non CVO '09 bagger, and the gains in HP, TQ, & imporved sound where incredible. If you have an '09 CVO, the power robbing, heat maker of a CC has to go.

Looks like you need to log into the CVO forum. I just clicked and didn't see the photo's but I logged in and they were there... Maybe they could get posted in this thread for those who aren't members of CVOHarley...

I've looked at those photos several times, no wonder the SERG feels restricted and posts such low dyno numbers. I hope the MOCO doesn't screw up all the bikes with that chit going forward.
I've ordered new head pipes and Fullsac baffles - with those improvements and adding a new fuel management system I hope I'll be getting a lot more out of my engine.

Just removed the cat from a friends new serg last night. Drilled some 1/2 " holes through after we cut it in half. Then sawzalled the rest out. Wonder how the exhaust could even get through that mess. Waiting for the new HQ 525's and TTS to show up. Should see definate improvement. Sure is a fancy bike.

Cataletic Converter in an '09 CVO
Here are the dyno run number numbers for my '09 FHTRSE3:
Base line - Stock exhaust, stock AC with CC still in the head pipe:
77.7 HP / 89.2 TQ
Base line - New head pipe without CC, stock AC, 1.75 inch FullSac baffles:
90.6 HP / 100.3 TQ
Custom Map -Super SERT, new head pipe without CC, stock AC, 1.75 ince FullSac baffles:
98.6 HP / 113.5 TQ
Significant gains just getting rid of the CC, with the new head pipe & baffles. Custom map with Super SERT gives you the power & TQ these bikes were designed to deliver. I live in So. Nevada, and I had my tuner strive for two things: Mildly agressive tune that delivered stong mid-range performace, (I am not interested in top end, but I do want the the bike to jump when I give it a squirt), cool the engine operating temps by providing a richer fuel / air mixture. Made a hugh difference in the bikes performace, I just need now to get used to all the power!
