Rode Across Northern Wisconsin / U P Michigan. Put down 600 miles that day. 9-5-08, Temp was 40 deg at sunrise, high for day was mid 50's. I was wearing levi's and chaps, and my butt was cooking.
Wearing jeans and chaps, I can only use the seat heater on low for about 15 minutes, then I have to switch it off, Wait 5 minutes and turn it back on for another 15.
ON High, it's on/off every 5 minutes. High is too hot !
My butt is one thing that I've never really had a problem with being cold, but those heated seats actually warm it up a bit too much. I've turned it on a few times, but end up just turning it off after a while. The heated grips have been kept in the off position also, but then I'm wearing a heated jacket and heated gloves, so I doubt that the grips will serve me any purpose in the winter months. I have a feeling that they will come in handy during those months that it dips down just a little cooler than I anticipated for the day, and don't have heated gear with me to fall back on.
