FXDSE2 crash bar
Has anybody else put the harley crash bar(they call it an engine guard) on the SE Dyna? Does anybody else besides me think it looks retarded? I really dont like the way the bottom u bolts stand out like a sore thumb. Why could they have designed so it will fit behind the foot pegs? I think it sucks you have to take the air dam off the bottom also. I thnik I'm going to modify(cut out some grooves in the side) it so I can still put it back on and at least cover up those ubolts.

No engine guard on my 2008 FXDSE2 for me!!!! I even took the passanger hand strap off of the Stripper seat I put on. This is MY sexy bike. I just pay for the insurance if I crash it. I was downtown Roanoke, Virginia Saturday and all the pimped-out chopped bikes were lining the street and all the riders at the sidewalk cafes were pointing at my FXDSE2...probably the chrome blinded them :-)
The FXDSE2 is just one bad bike and an engine guard on it would be like dressing your Prom Queen date in burlap. Don't do it. Just my humble opinion. FXDSE2

Well since I have crashed(old lady pulled out in front of me, not too much damage done though) it made my decision alot easier. Plus I'm 6'4" and need to to be able to stretch my legs out on long rides. But you are right, it definitely looks better without it. But its more function than looks to me. I still have one of the best looking bikes in town.
I worked on modifying the air dam last night. It's turning out better than I thought. Maybe I'll post some pics when I'm done.
