Default 2000 CVO Road Glide

I had the chance to take a look at a 2000 Screamin' Eagle Road Glide (FLTRSEI). Bike appears basically stock and has under 15,000 miles on it.

I've been looking for a Road Glide but had been thinking of a newer one with the 6 speed. This bike caught my eye due to the color (various shades of red) and condition.

Any thoughts or comments about these bikes in general or what a "fair" price might be?

Not sure on fair pricing for that bike, but I can say that I good buddy of mine has the same bike and has thouroughly enjoyed the bike since 2000. He's had no mechanical issues that I am aware of. In fact, this is the bike that made me consider buying my CVO.

Thanks for the feedback.

I've always liked the Road Glide and had been seriously considering a newer one to get the six speed. I held off waiting to see what the 2009 model year would bring and it appears the frame change is the "real-deal".

Nevertheless, I've always liked the earlier CVO versions and this one sort of just showed up. Considering that I'm still working and don't take that many huge trips I'm thinking that I could still handle the five speed and the CVO already has a healthy motor. That combined with the fact that I wouldn't be seeing another one just like it on every corner makes it even more tempting.

I bought the orange and black model in 2000. I've now got 64,280 very enjoyable miles on it. No problems, just regular maintenance. When it first came out it was the baddest bike around! I've never had anything done to upgrade it and it still runs very well. I don't know what a fair value would be as I am partial to it and would want way more than it is worth if I was selling it.

I just bought a 2000 SE Rg in black and orange with 46,500 miles on it in Memphis. It is in extra clean condition and is basically a one owner bike. The original owner bought it somewhere in IL in 2000 passed away recently and his son sold it to someone in Memphis in April of 2008. He only put 600 miles on it and I bought it in July. Would you know how I could track down the original owners family to fins out about the history of the bike. The engine has some came work done and i wanted to find out some specifics.

Thanks and I am glad to hear you have had great luck with your ride.

Default Great Bike

Don't know what the value is today buttttttt. The local dealer just sold one for 17k. Could not own mine for that.
My understanding is there were only 753 or 4 of the Black/Orange/White and 700 some of the Red made. With about 30 each of those being produced for CA. So would say it's a pretty rare bike. Also believe it was the first production SE made.
As for the 95/1550. I believe this bike will run with or better than most today. It was just built right.
I have had issues with it running rich but a power commander and a great Dyno guy did wonders.
If I'd have had the cash the bike my dealer sold would also have been mine....then I'd have two.
Never noticed, but a friend told me ...if your approaching the bike it's black. After it passes its orange. Great to know if you if you got a heavy wrist, ha.
Good riding...sunny side up

It was my understanding there were 775 of the black & orange, and 775 of the two tone red. This corresponded with the new 1550 cc engine.

$16-$17k Seems to be the norm for an all stock bike.

Mine wouldn't leave the garage for less than $24K

Add a Baker DD6 6 speed to the 00, freshen up the chrome where needed, add some heads and cams and call it done.

Default 2000 Screamin Eagle Road Glide

I just drove from Charlotte N.C to Oklahoma to buy a 2000 cvo Road glide. 17.000 miles bike is like new true duals only change on bike. I looked for month an stole this bike for 10,000 I don't think the guy knew what he had value wise. I wouldn't sell for 20.000 an this bike will always hold it's value. Why spend 38.000 for a new one?
