Default TMAX on 07-thinking SERT for 08 SERK

I'am bringing home my 08 SERK on the 19th and one of the things Iam looking at is I've heard the 08 CVO ECM's are leaps and bounds ahead of the TMAX. I've got a TMAX on my Dyna and its the best money I ever spent on that bike. The more I hear about the 08 ECM's Harley is using on the 08 CVO's the more I'm thinking of going with a SERT on the SERK. Any thoughts on this subject? Are others hearing the same thing about the 08 CVO ECM's and how good they are?

I'm pretty sure that at this time your only option is a SERT. I don't think anyone else has anything out yet because of all the changes made to the '08s.

The 08 is better than the past concerning the stock ECM however, will never catch up to the T-Max. Don't ask how I know this infomation. Your past experience should be enough to lead you to the light. Don't confuse smart with stupid.

IMOH, until H-D starts utilizing wideband O2 sensors,
there is no way that they can effectively compete with the TMax autotune system.

The ECM can only make tuning calculations based on the information (sensors) available to it.

I don't think HD will ever go to wide band O2 sensors because it would leave their dealers high and dry - (where some of them are now anyhow) because they would eliminate one of the mysterious parts of their ECM and its programming. They only look at the bottom line....

I also believe that the T Max is the way to go. I'm not concerned about warranty on this motorcycle regarding the T Max either since the engine would probably be better off with it over the Delphi ECM. The pitfalls and proprietary concerns that HD has about letting customers know more about the ECM are enough to desire a different system that we have some control over as the owner of the friggin motorcycle..I'm waiting patiently to get rid of Delphi.
