Default IDS (isolation drive system)

Has anyone put the new IDS into a 2007 SE Bagger?

It works like a shock absorber to the drive system. Only available to 07 FLH models, stock on 08 models, smoothes out the drive system they say. Brand new part.

Oh ok so like a dynamic stabillity control were you cant burn out when full throttle if applied. I hope you dont pull out to close in front of some one were you have to punch it !

No, it's not a torque limiter. It's a cush drive sprocket the Japs have used forever. long overdue and now virtually necessary with the taller primary gearing on the six speeds. It has silenced just about all the tranny clatter in fifth gear bitching, except for me. They don't make one for my fxstc, yet. Best thing I'll ever buy for the bike when it happens.

I installed the kit on my 07 SE Ultra, it does create a more refined drive train but I doubt if its going to do much for drive train noises, I dont have any 5th gear whine so I cant respond to that problem but I have a hunch if it whines without it it will shine with it.

Clatter is the issue. Whine is reasonably normal for the straight 1st and 5th gears. I'm guessing about 30% of the 07s make this annouying clatter sound. The ids will eliminate it plus smooth out the pulses in the drive as well.

I had the IDS put on my 07 RK Classic this past weekend. For us that had a lot of transmission noise and loud 5th gear whine, this kit makes a BIG difference. After 500+ miles, still no noise, even at lugging speeds. 5th gear whine is a whole lot less.

Kit costs appox $200 at Zanotti, plus labor (1-2 hrs) or DIY.
