110 in 2012 CVO RG, pinged like crazy. V-Rod plug helped a lot (colder), PV with custom tune helped more, AFR 13.5. lifter came apart on way home from Daytona. Replaced 110 with 120R. No more ping. 120R run great with PV map from dynojet, no ping AFR 13.8, better fuel economy and it will pull the front wheel off the ground in gears 1 thru 4.

110 is a dog, be prepared to spend money to make it run right.

the problems with the 110 are in order of importance.

Bad cams 255 good tractor cam, but it will run better with something like an andrews 57 or woods 555. (Cost $330 to $450)

throttle body (replace 55 with 58) (costs $300 to $450 including injectors)

Low compression, it needs 10.5 to 1. (pistons cost $350 to $500)

Heads need work. Replace with MVA heads. (costs $1200+)

labor ($???)

so to make the 110 run correctly you need to spend about $2500 to $3500.

120R $5100 plus throttle body plus clutch = $6500 to $7000, sell 110 for $2500 to $3000
net cost = $3500 to $4000.

The 110" engine has the emmissions 255 "school bus" cam in order to squeeeeeeeeeeeek past EPA.
At only 9.2 cr from the factory, the 110" has a cold cranking compression ratio of 205-207 psi.
Goes to show how "short" that cam is.
Actually, with some minor head work, and resurfacing them to establish 10.0 cr, an S&S .570 works VERY WELL, for instance.(we've used many others as well.)
It adds MUCH more power(a tiny loss off the very bottom), and cools the engine way down with the exhaust timing it has.
One last point, it'll have approx. 195 psi cold cranking.

canned maps for tuner (PC, SEPT, TTS) are exactly that, canned. Sometimes they are close, other times they are not. Custom dynotune with an experienced tuner is always best. Stress experienced tuner!

I'm also interested in knowing how much this would cost?

2012 CVO Street Glide

57H cams, Amazon, $232.
S&S High Perf Lifters, Amazon, $120 (not Premium)
S&S Adj Push Rods, Amazon, $164 (not quickie)
Inner Cam Bearings, Amazon, $23
Small consumables like gaskets, cam sprocket bolts (use new ones), Harley Dealer, $61
TTS Tuner can be found for around $400, plus cables at $38.

$1117 in parts and tools, and you can use the tools again. Do it your self.
Add $400 for a shop to do it (excluding the tune) and your at just over $1500.

Optional, or borrow them:
Cam gear locking Tool, Ebay, $19
Inner cam bearing remover/installer, $60 (http://www.mbsmfg.com/hadaincambep.html)

A good inch pounds tq wrench, and one that will do up to 40 ft-lbs.

Do your own labor. It's easy, sort of. Or pay a shop about 4 hours.

Wow thanks, that's actually not that bad. Wish you guys were closer so I could just pay your shop to do it for me! I can't stand the pinging. It also pops occasionally on deceleration.
