Default Backrest options for new CVO Road Glide?

I have a HD rider backrest off of my last bike, a 2014 Ultra Limited. According to the HD parts website, the same backrest will fit on the 2022 CVO’s. I’m going to get at it this weekend but it seems that the back of the seat won’t allow enough room for the backrest to slide into the bracket that mounts underneath the seat. I’ve searched this forum with no luck. Any thoughts or input is appreciated.
Thanks,
John

If it has the stock 2 piece cvo seat then I believe this is the only option for a rider backrest, if you wanna keep the stock seat.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve found too. Thanks.

Yes talk to George at BadBoyz!! He will take care of you. I went with the Scorpion line back rests and could not be happier. Also don't buy the cheap knock-offs on Amazon, George is in the process of suing them for copyright infringement.

I have an extra of that setup in my garage from when I ran a CVO two piece seat. From a company called CVO Backrest. Smooth vinyl. PM if you want. I'll get photos tonight.

Thanks! Looks good. Question: is your rider backrest short, medium or tall?

I went with medium. I'm 5'9" and it hits in the small of my back. Very comfortable!

Thanks for the heads up. The seat that comes with the Green Fade color, like mine is, doesn’t have the diamond pattern that his has. I’ll most likely go with a new one with smooth pattern.

Default The 2014 backrest will fit on the 2022.

I have a 2022 CVO Road Glide Limited. My 2009 CVO backrest fits just fine on the new bike.
The new backrests are just a little too bulky for me and my wife.
