Default Tire

the tire was installed last fall....it was about 75 degrees. I had only driven about 8 miles. Injuries were

Brain bleed
Broken nose
Shattered cheek bones
Staples in head
Crushed bones in my hand
Lots of road rash

Something had to be eating the sidewall. Maybe you picked up something and it got lodged between the tire and the frame. Wouldn't take long at speed for that to happen. Praying for speedy recovery!

Preyer’s for a speedy recovery. Certainly looks like something was rubbing the sidewall.

Just throwing a scenario.....could this be caused by ply separation to the inside of the tire??

My understanding is that shinkos require higher air pressure...and if you run them at the pressure recommended in the owners manual, they are underinflated...

Good luck with your recovery...

Without a forensic analysis of the rubber in the area that failed, it is just about impossible to say what happened. Under inflation, something rubbing on the sidewall, road debris or screw/nail causing a leak then heat causing sidewall damage and failure. Hard to say by looking at pictures over the internet.

Hope you heal quickly and that by wearing good motorcycle gear you where able to survive the accident.
