Social Distancing CVO Style: Let's See Those Spring Riding Pics
#11
2019 CVO Black Forest and Wineberry Stage 3, RWD RR 13" shocks
I'm kinda digging this social distancing thing. I work from home, so there's no change there for me. But now I can go riding any time of day, any day of the week... and there's no traffic. I know some of y'all still have some winter weather, but Spring has Sprung here in Arizona. I'm out riding every day. Let's see those social distancing pics:

"Social Distancing" at Lake Powell, Page, Arizona. This was just before the quarantine but I've always been good at social distancing. I really like camping off this bike...backpacking gear but I don't have to carry it. LOL
AND...I've learned a few lessons about consolidating gear from those early trips. The RoadKing trip was in 2008...whew, that old girl was LOADED...with an 88ic motor. (Lee Ferry, AZ) Looks like I was heading for the circus.

I didn't get much of a ride in today (my back tire is down to zilch.$hit in the tread department), but I did get a ride around the lakes and through the majestic Prescott Granite Dells.

Lots of great photos!
Dave I’ve stopped and read all the markers along the Cherohala. There was some SERIOUS timber there in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Most people do not realize they are looking at new growth for the most part and I for one had no idea the timber rivaled that of the west coast back in the day.
One of our favorite rides. Back in 2009 I was giving a tour of that area to a couple of guys from Canton, Ohio with Timken bearing. We left Statesville, NC and got into rain quickly. Rode Hwy 80 from Marion to the BRP and up to the top of Mt. Mitchell. It was so foggy up there that we could only see the yellow line on the road and about 5 ft ahead. We rode the BRP to Asheville and got on the main roads to Robinsville. Spent the night at the Two Wheel Inn and it rained all night long. Got up with intentions of riding the Skyway. The rain stopped and we rolled. At 2000 feet visibility was low, at 3000 feet if was very poor and at 4000 feet and above it was zero. I was leading and could see the yellow line and my Garmin on the handlebar Mount. I’m running 20 mph, one bike is following my tail light and the last bike following the middle tail light. Two deer walk out across in front of me and I could have reached out and petted them. We got back down below 3000 and stopped for a minute. I asked if they saw the deer and they just laughed! What deer?
At Tellico Plains we had lunch and those guys parted ways toward Knoxville to head north. I Road the Skyway back across and it had cleared up. Good memories!
