I don't see a 131 crate motor P/N in Granite Black. If you order the standard black it won't look right in your CVO.

It will soon. It will cost another $400.00, but it will come with a certificate of Authenticity. You heard it here first. Take it to the bank

Crate does not come with the new cat header, like the kit does if for warranty adherence

The crate does not come with the header or the fan assisted oil cooler. The header is around $650 and both parts must be purchased to keep the crate engine warranty compliant.

I wonder what the insurance will cover if it is stolen. Accessories as a rule usually aren't covered. Even if you do have a certificate of Origin. btw....U gonna carry that bill of sale around with you?

With my insurance company I send them the parts and labor list and they add it to my policy. I am fortunate that nothing has ever happened but I am covered just in case. The add-ons do cost a little extra but not very much.
If not added they would only replace with stock.

What **** 67 said, also no reason to carry bill of sale, leave it home in safe place, take a photo on phone if you have to.

Speaking from experience with progressive after damaging my softail in a loading accident, they will pay for accessories and custom as long as you have proof/receipts for it and can show it was on the bike. That being said, my policy is listed with a set dollar amount over the cost of the bike but custom parts they pay 100% value for and don't depreciate like the stock value of the bike. They paid enough to replace everything damaged on my bike to include the custom paint job. They may be a little higher than other insurance companies but you get what you pay for should you ever need them as well.

That is a sharp bike Al!!

I have been playing around with the numbers for exactly this scenario, Kit or Crate?
Confirmed that I will take the entire existing 114 engine home if I go with the Crate and that for me makes it an easy decision.
My 114 engine currently has just over 10K miles on it, already has Stage II Torque (Its a Breakout 114) and I give up the torque cam if I opt for the Stage IV131 Kit anyway.
Warranty just expired and I am into the ESP now, so having an nice backup engine on hand isn't a bad thing.

I am just relieved they are finally allowing us lowly softail frame owners into the big boy pool.
