Default Thunderheader slip ons too loud

I have a 2007 flhtcuse2 with thunderheader slip ons. They are too loud for me(I have to wear ear plugs). Does anyone have experience with a brand that is not as loud. I would be willing to trade someone who think their slipons are not loud enough.

I tried at least a half a dozen set of mufflers on my '06 SE Ultra before I settled on the V&H Ovals. The others were either too loud or I didn't care for the sound. Seems these big bores are just a lot louder than the standard engines regardless of what you use. The Ovals are plenty loud but not bad at highway speeds. I also have the V&H Dresser Duals and that makes them a little louder. The Rineharts are loud, the HD Screamin Eagle mufflers areplenty loud and a set of Hookers I tried were really loud. You could try the V&H Ovals or you might consider the Rush mufflerswith either the 1.50" or 1.75" baffles. I tried the Rush with 1.50" baffles and they weren't too bad. I just preferred the sound of the Ovals.

Good luck. I've been down the sameroad and it kind of trial and error. Unless you can find someone else with the same bike with mufflers to your liking. Everyone's opinion on this will be alittle different as we all have different likes and dislikes. And what is too loud to one person isn't loud at all to the next.

I'm thankful for my thunder headers sounding the way they do on my big bore. Those cages know I'm around and are definitely made aware that I'm about--have experienced many close calls and if it weren't for the forewarning from my thunderheaders--hate to think...

From what I hear is that the S&S slipons are quiet. You can see them at http://www.sscycle.com/iframes/catalog.php page 10 of their twin cam catalog. Let us know what you decide on and if your happy.

kanedog, i have a set of modified mufflers that are pretty tame except when you really turn the throttle. Saw you were interested in trading. what are you looking for, or will you sell the thunderheader slipons?
