Running the Cobra 4 1/2" Race Pro mufflers with Vance and Hines dresser duals on my 2015 CVO Street Glide. Much louder than past pipes with Rush Big Louie, Rinehart or others when in the throttle but a great purr when cruising.
Well I never changed out just the mufflers...all you get is some noise. I had the entire exhaust system replaced with Rineharts. Pulling off the head pipes gets that nasty catalytic converter out and you get a cooler running bike and a performance boost.
So did you have to install a tuner also?
I would like to get rid of some heat on the right leg that's for sure.

You will need to have your bike's ECM information changed or "tuned" to adjust for the changes in the flow of your exhaust system. So a tuner is pretty much required. I have heard of some using a "canned table" and have the dealer or someone with the equipment flash your ECM, but I have never heard of one that was an optimal solution.
Depends on the tuner...something like a SERT or TTS isn't installed per say, but used to tune the bike, usually with a dyno meter to adjust parameters that will need to be changed with the change to the exhaust system. Others, like the Power Commander are actually installed on the bike. I have used TTS, but others swear by the PC system.
