Default WTH? Dilemma

I currently ride an 09 ElectraGlide Classic which now has 63k miles on it. Actually it is in the Shop getting Cam Compartment repairs under ESP. I am on a rental 2014 Limited.
I decided after the 14s came out I would wait a year and buy a 15. During that wait I quit spending money on upgrades for my 09 in order to save.
In the process of waiting I decided I wanted to buy a CVO. None of the 14 CVO colors tripped my trigger. So I have been waiting patiently.
Finally the Dealer show in August gets here and I found the one. I even drove 80 miles to another dealer to make sure.
I want to remain Loyal to my Favorite Dealer however they have not gotten any CVO other than the Street Glide.
My bike is in this same dealership under repair but it seems my repairs are taking awhile to complete due to parts.
The CVO I want is the Poladium Silver and Burgundy. From what I understand dealers do not do Dealer trades on CVOs. I believe I would get a better price at my dealer and it is local.
I cant even take my bike to the Dealer that actually has the bike I want. So I am forced to wait.
In writing this I am getting a little suspect as to the delay in getting my bike done.
Once it is done ya think I should just go get it elsewhere??

I don't know where you heard that the dealers won't take a trade-in on a CVO. But they do in fact. A lot of money comes into the shop from trade ins. Most times they make more profit from the resale of a trade in than on a new bike!

Sorry let me clarify Dealers are not inclined to do Dealer Trades on a CVO

Not true, they will. There may be other factors where certain dealers intentionally will not swap bikes with another, ya know, chest pounding. Go to the dealer you want to buy the bike from and speak to a salesman. They may be able to put in a request with there rep and get you the color you want or as I mentioned swap for it. You may have to wait for it but who cares if your getting what you really want.

About done with my dealership. Apparently Loyalty is getting me no where.
Went in tonight and talked to Sales Manager to find out what is happening. He starts showing me bikes he has coming in then He claims he had no idea which bike I wanted. Told him 2 weeks ago Model and Colors. He is now searching to make a Dealer Trade. But this is only part of my drama my repairs on my bike aren't done yet either

Once you get your bike back you'll have more options...I'd get the new one I wanted whether at your current dealer or somewhere else. You will have more pricing flexibility at the end of the model year, but your preferred color may not be available then. It will be hard to get a good price on your current bike from a dealer because of the mileage.

I faced the same dilemma with my favorite dealer which we have bought several bikes from since '91 when I bought my '13 CVO Ultra in 9/12.
I wanted the Typhoon Maroon color but they couldn't obtain one so I had to go to a different dealership to get the color I wanted.

Nothing personal, and it's your money and you should get the bike and color that you want

Buy it from where ever you want to. Don't worry about it.

Got a phone call yesterday. My dealer negotiated a trade from a dealer up north and it will possibly be here by the end of the week
