first road trip advice
hi all
in a few months im doing my first road trip with a few friends, we are flying over to another country and renting bikes some road kings, deluxes and a dyna or 2 and im looking on advice for a first ride.
the trip is going to be over 3 days, first day of picking up the bikes and riding 3 hours to the top of this mountain, then 3 hours to the beach, camp overnight, next day 3-4 hours ride down to place in the hills/mountain stay overnight in a hotel then next day ride back to the rental place which again will be about 3-4 hours.
we are doing this in the middle east (United Arab Emirates) and in november so the weather should be about mid 20c to low 30c clear skies and basic ideal weather. roads are all open highways until we hit the mountains then its nice winding roads.
so i was hoping i could get some advice from people on what is a good idea to take with us when we go, besides tents for camping. is there anything that is a must have or wise to take? anything anyone always takes with them on a road trip?
what ever help or advice you guys can offer will be most appreciated
thanks a lot guys

We usually worry based on things that "you can not buy" when on the road or would not want to buy due to cost. The little things that I know I can get, like toothpaste, I try not to go crazy over. If I forget it, I will go buy some.
So big things to make sure you packed, leather, rain gear and camera. All the stuff like recharges etc for the camera are also big to make sure they are in order. The rest is pretty inexpensive to buy on the road.
Now that is based on riding around the US or A. No experience for where you are going and how readily available things can be, but for three days you should be OK. I am thinking sun block would be a great idea. Enjoy the trip.

Since I have absolutely no idea what to pack for a short trip in the UAE, I'll leave the equipment lists to others. I will say, pick your riding buddies with care. When planning a trip everyone is yeah, yeah let's do it. Come departure day you can often find yourself alone. If someone does not book with front money, they are BS.
In 48 years of long distance touring I've found 4 dependable riding partners. I've stopped counting the ones that said; "Yeah, lets ride to Sturgis"
