Well, I leave tomorrow at 6:00AM for Colorado. There'll be 4 bikes on this trip and six people. This one's a little different than what I've done in the past. It's usually just two bikes, me and my son Mark. This time a couple of friends, Bill and Larry, are going with us. I'll be on my Limited, Mark on his Street Glide and Bill and Larry both ride Road Kings.

Bill's wife and mine are flying to Durango on Friday where we'll pick them up. From there we'll go up to Ouray which will be our base for a few days. We'll eventually drop them off again at the Durango airport and they'll fly home.

Tomorrow we'll ride from my home, Arlington, TX in the Dallas-Ft Worth area to Las Vegas, New Mexico which is 567 miles. It's a long, hot ride. (It's supposed to be 100 degrees here tomorrow.) Bill and Larry didn't want to ride that far in one day so they left this morning to ride to Amarillo where they'll meet us as we pass through tomorrow.

I'll try to post something everyday, a few pics and a little narrative. Of course that depends on whether I get stuck in the bar on a given night or not. If I do, a post may not make any sense so I'll probably wait until the next day.

 

Wish I was going with you. I was in Durango 3 weeks ago and rode the train and all of the fun stuff but the drive up hwy 550 to Ouray was the highlight, breathtaking scenery. I was with the family and we were in a car and I was wishing I had my bike for the ride. Some day.
