Hwy 14A or Hwy 14 across BigHorn Mtn's?
Any thoughts on which road has better scenery? We will be heading east from Red Lodge MT. I only have time to take one road. Looking on google maps it looks like 14 is better, but I'm seeing post that alot of you like 14A. Has anyone been on both? Thoughts?
Thanks....
Thanks....

You can't go wrong with either road. 14 has Shell Canyon and Shell Falls. 14A has Medicine Wheel which personally I don't think is much to see but to each his own. 14A I think is a little steeper of a road and coming from Red Lodge might be a shorter of a trip. Both roads have a lot of sharp corners and going down towards Sheridan off the other side is great to. I grew up in Sheridan and have spent a lot of time in the Big Horns. You'll really enjoy it.

14A is a blast to climb up (if you don't get stuck behind a Winnebago.. ),
but IMHO 14 through Shell Canyon is a more scenic ride.
The descent toward Sheridan from either is a hoot..
