Laconia Time Again
#21
I was up there Sat till yesterday, It was great the weather just awesome. Great riding all over, They are paving on some roads, like Rt 9. Some of the roads around the lake are in bad shape, the hard winter still showing it's ugly face. Overall just a great place to ride..

Longer route but you could take I84-90-290-495-I95-RT16-RT11. There are tolls but it brings you up the NH Seacoast if you wanted a side tour on your way up. Get off I95 in Hampton and ride Rt1a north to into Rye then grab RT 1N to Rt 16N.

Well - I'm back to reality now. It was a great 4 days. I didn't see one single drop of rain.
Day 1 - From NY to MA we took I90 into Troy and then NY7 to VT7 to NH9. We got slowed once or twice for road paving, but it wasn't too bad. The ride is one of my favorites every year.
Day 2 - We went from Concord to the NHMS to Alton to Weirs to Meredith to Castle in the Clouds. The Castle area is a great ride and the Castle itself a great scenic stop. From there we had a nice 1hr 15min ride back to Concord.
Day 3 - We went down into MA and then rode the coast all the way up to Maine (with a stop at Seacoast HD. We took 1A to 1B and then the bridge over to Maine. From there we went back into NH and stopped at Rochester HD and then finally back to Concord.
Day 4 - We rode back to Syracuse the same way we came. This time there was no road construction going on, as it was Sunday.
All in all, it was my favorite trip to Laconia.

Perfect Weather
I rode up from Hampton, VA on Monday via backroads west then north thru Gettysburg and north thru central NY across to Bennington, VA for the first day then 9 to 93 north to Weirs. A biota the way, but it was worth it for the scenery.
The week was beyond compare. I am always wet when I ride, so this week was a pleasant change. Since there was expected heavy thunderstorms en route home Saturday I boogied the direct route making it the 745 miles in less than 13 hours. Would've been MUCH less had I not been stuck in 10 miles of stopped traffic on the Conn/NY border crossing and the 20 mile backup on 95 south in Jersey because of construction, but I did make it home for a kickass party!
Being from Ormond Beach originally, I can attest that Laconia is by far the best riding event I've ever attended. Will definitely go back to hit the rides I couldn't squeeze into my schedule.

Definitely a good year in Laconia. We went up Thursday morning via Port Jeff Ferry to the main land, spent the first hour in Connecticut in the rain. But that was it!!! North of Hartford on I-91 nothing but sunshine till we got home Sunday evening. We all got stuck in the same road construction on Route 9, but wide open coming home on Sunday, and we all got to ride the nice new asphalt.
GBeck, now you need to make it to Sturgis, even better riding!! But Laconia is my local rally of the "Big 3" so it works for me.
PS - why did I go back to work today?????

Heading up to the Weirs, Pauli's, Clam strip stop in Alton Beach area, Meredith area..
